Dr. James (Brad) Phillips

Practice Owner, DVM

Dr. James (Brad) Phillips was born and raised in Clarendon County. He graduated from Francis Marion University.  He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and completed his clinical training at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced as an associate veterinarian at Westside Animal Hospital in Florence, SC for a year while Lake Marion Animal Hospital(LMAH) was under construction.   He and Becca were married in February 2019 and LMAH opened their doors a few months later.  He looks forward to providing Clarendon County and its surrounding areas with top quality animal care.

Dr. Becca Barron

Practice Owner, DVM

Education: Hollins University, BS Business; Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine;  Clinical training Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine

Accreditation: State of Florida, State of Georgia, State of South Carolina

Dr. Barron was born and raised on a farm outside of Tallahassee, Florida. After completing an undergraduate degree from Hollins University in 2007, she spent a year competing horses at the advanced level of three-day eventing before joining North Florida Animal Hospital(NFAH) as a veterinary technician. Six years later, she moved to St. Kitts, West Indies to attend Ross University and finished her clinical training at Texas A&M, where she and Brad were introduced by mutual friends.  After graduation, she returned to Tallahassee and rejoined NFAH as an associate veterinarian in December 2016.  Dr. Barron as two black labs, Crockett and Culby, as well as two horses, Oberon and Britain.  In her free time she enjoys horse-back riding, boating, and trying new restaurants.

Brittany “B” Flack

Veterinary Technician

B has been a veterinary technician since 2018 and joined the LMAH team in 2020. After graduating from Lakewood High School in 2016, she chose a career in animal medicine and revels in all of the puppy love she gets to soak up each day. Feeling a profound responsibility to pets and their owners, she delights in working with others to turn an animal’s health around and thrives under the pressure of emergency situations.

Outside of work, B can be found with her friends and her daughter. Their family includes Hazel, who was rescued after her old family moved and left her behind, and Drake. Both pups love to play but equally enjoy a good nap.

Savannah Hill

Veterinary Technician

Savannah joined Lake Marion Animal Hospital in 2022. She is an Alumna of Laurence Manning Academy. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is she likes helping families with their pets and she loves the family atmosphere that they have at the clinic.

In her spare time, Savannah spends time with her family and friends. Also, she loves hunting, fishing, and going to field trials. She has three dogs, two Labrador Retrievers named Remi and Conway, who keeps everyone on their toes. And then the old man of the group, her Maltese, Toby, who sleeps all day.

Katie Feagin

Veterinary Technician

Katie embarked on her journey with Lake Marion Animal Hospital in 2023. As a compassionate individual, Katie finds immense fulfillment in the rewarding experience of helping animals that cannot advocate for themselves.

In addition to her hands-on experience, Katie is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Vet Nurse program, showcasing her commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated in the field of veterinary medicine.

Outside of the 9-to-5, you’ll catch Katie outdoors, hunting, fishing, and riding horses. Her sidekick in all these adventures is Annie, a Springer Lab Mix who’s all about hunting and swimming. It’s not just a job for Katie; her love for animals spills over from the clinic to her everyday life.

Zowie Hatfield

Veterinary Technician

In 2023, Zowie started her journey with Lake Marion Animal Hospital. Her favorite aspect of this field lies in the rewarding feeling derived from aiding animals who lack a voice to advocate for themselves.

Thriving in the clean and homey atmosphere at Lake Marion Animal Hospital, Zowie values the positive environment that enhances her ability to contribute to the well-being of animals. Her dedication to delivering top-notch care seamlessly aligns with the clinic’s commitment to creating a comfortable and nurturing environment.

While Zowie doesn’t currently share her home with any pets, her love for the outdoors is evident in her enjoyment of activities like riding horses and hiking.

Natalye Plemons

Veterinary Technician

In 2023, Natalye joined Lake Marion Animal Hospital, putting her love of veterinary medicine front and center. Her greatest part about working in veterinary medicine is the satisfaction she gets from helping animals and giving owners useful advice on how to foster the best possible relationships with their pets. Her commitment to strengthening the relationship between owners and their pets is one of the main reasons she selected this fulfilling career.
In her free time, she enjoys doing a variety of things. She enjoys the outdoors, doing diamond art, and spending quality time with her family. Natalye shares her home with two lively Pit Bulls, Klaus and Gypsy, who bring boundless energy and laughter to her daily routine. They not only keep her on her toes but also contribute to the completeness of her little family, embodying the essence of joy and companionship in her personal life.

Carly Broadway

Office Assistant

Carly has enjoyed seeing the variety of animals we serve at Lake Marion Animal Hospital since joining our team in February 2020. Her role exposes her to new experiences every day, and she appreciates her friendly teammates. She relishes how much she learns each shift, complementing her education at nearby Clarendon Hall High School. 

Like others on our staff, she spends her free time socializing and particularly enjoys going to the lake or seeing movies. Her family includes a 1-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer / Lab mix named Goose, who unsurprisingly loves to play and run. 

Amanda Hipp

Receptionist

Amanda joined Lake Marion Animal Hospital in June 2021. What she likes most about this field of work is getting to see all the different animals and their personalities that always shine through.

Away from work, she adores spending time with her family, especially her boys. She shares her home with a Schnauzer named Finn and a Dingo named Lucy.
